Monitoring chemical clean-up in Kærgård
Department of Geoscience is testing a new concept for chemical remediation in collaboration with Region South Denmark. Vast amounts of chemical waste were dumped in the dunes starting 1958. Anders Vest Christiansen from Geoscience is featured in the DR 1 news on the clean-up project.
The project idea is to monitor the distribution of the chemical treatment products in the subsurface volume by measuring electrical properties in a cross-borehole setup. The measurements will contribute to a more optimal injection campaign by producing images of the distribution of the chemicals.
