The young, dynamic solar system
Rasmus Andreasen is co-author in a new article in Nature Astronomy: "The dissipation of the solar nebula constrained by impacts and core cooling in planetesimals"
Rasmus Andreasen from the Department of Geoscience is co-author in a newly published article in Nature Astronomy. The article is about the cooling rate and timing of crystallization of iron meteorites and thus the nuclei of small early-formed planets in our solar system. The results show that the minor planets lost their silicate mantle only about 8-11 million years after the formation of the solar system and thus give a picture of a very dynamic early solar system.
