Student Kristine Urhøj Møller received the award for Best Student Poster at the 'Archeometallurgy in Europe 2024' conference in Falun, Sweden, held in mid-June. Her presentation of her bachelor's project, "A Novel Approach to Differentiate Icelandic Iron Production Slags from other Viking Sources Combining Sr Isotopes and Trace Elements," impressed the judges and secured her this prestigious recognition.
The conference, which attracts around 200 participants from Europe, North America, and South America, is held only once every four years, making Kristine's award even more remarkable. The prize was awarded by The Historical Metallurgy Society and The Society for Archaeological Sciences.
The Department of Geoscience congratulates Kristine on the well-deserved award and acknowledges her outstanding work and dedication.
