New Arctic benthic foraminiferal species

Marit-Solveig Seidenkrantz and Karen Luise Knudsen have together with Anne E. Jennings from INSTAAR, USA, found and described a new benthic foraminiferal species. This species was found in the Nares Strait, northern Baffin Bay and on the shelf of NE Greenland. It seems to be indicative of a nearby marine-terminating glacier, which will make it highly valuable for paleoclimate and paleoceanographic investigations in arctic environments.
