Forskere fra Aarhus Universitet dokumenterer for første gang, hvordan metangas og olie siver op fra havbunden ud for Nordøstgrønland og påvirker havets økosystem. Studiet viser også, at der findes gashydrater – en slags frosne gaslommer - på kontinentalsoklen, og at de nu bliver påvirket af det hurtigt varmere arktiske hav.

On the 31. October 2025, the Department of Geoscience celebrated the inauguration of our two professors, Katrine Juul Andresen and Stéphane Bodin.

Several researchers of our department were part of a new study that describes the discovery of the earliest blue pigment in Europe. The work which was led by colleagues Izzy Wisher and Felix Riede from Archaeology at Aarhus University was published in Antiquity and has been picked up by several major news outlets including National Geographic and Science.
