Charles Lesher elected GSA Fellow

Recognised at 2016 GSA Annual Meeting Presidential Address & Awards Ceremony in Denver, Colorado.

The Geological Society of America bestows Society Fellowship by election at the spring GSA Council meeting. GSA members are nominated by existing GSA Fellows in recognition of their distinguished contributions to the geosciences through such avenues as publications, applied research, teaching, administration of geological programs, contributing to the public awareness of geology, leadership of professional organisations, and taking on editorial, bibliographic, and library responsibilities. 

David Walker nominated Charles Lesher for his innovative studies of the chemistry and physics of magmatic systems with particular reference to physical and transport properties that impact the differentiation of Earth and the planets.
