The micro-XRF is used to examine the structure and composition of specimens, including the distribution of elements, the identification and analysis of single grains and the execution of line scans.
The instrument can also be utilized to do quick compositional pre-screening of thin sections and to the digitize thin sections before optical or electron microscope studies.
