GC-MS

The gas chromatograph (GC) is coupled to both a flame ionization detector (FID) and a mass selective detector (MSD). It is used to measure the concentrations, identities, and distributions of alkanes, fatty acids, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), sterols, alkenones and more. The Agilent instrument is comprised of a split/splitless injector and an 8890B GC coupled to an FID and a 5977C MSD.
