ESP members Charles Lesher, Christian Tegner, and students Niklas Stausberg and Ole Skursch are participating in a layered intrusions workshop in Potsdam. The workshop is being hosted at GFZ (GeoForschungsZentrum) and will take place from August 12th to 13th. The workshop's organiser and many of its participants are authors from the recent Layered Intrusions volume co-edited by Christian Tegner.

About thirty presentations will be given in the form of talks or posters. Presentations will examine the formation and evolution of layered intrusions. The ESP team will be presenting their work on mafic to felsic rock transitions in Bushveld, and on iron isotopes in the Skaergaard and Bushveld intrusions. 

The workshop will be followed by an ICDP (International Continental Drilling Program) meeting about Bushveld, following up from last year's meeting in Johannesburg.
