Marit-Solveig Seidenkrantz becomes a member of The Danish Council on Climate Change
On 1 March the Head of Department Marit-Solveig Seidenkrantz becomes a member of The Danish Council on Climate Change
We are proud to announce that Professor of Geology and Head of the Department of Geoscience, Marit-Solveig Seidenkrantz, has been appointed as a new member of The Danish Council on Climate Change. She will officially join the council on March 1, 2025, serving a four-year term.
Marit-Solveig brings her extensive expertise in climate systems and climate change to the Council. Her research focuses on the interactions between the ocean, atmosphere, and ice, as well as the pace at which climate changes occur. The chair of The Danish Council on Climate Change, Peter Møllgaard, highlights Marit-Solveig’s significant contributions, noting that her insights will enhance the council’s ability to remain a credible and independent advisor.
The Danish Council on Climate Change consists of interdisciplinary experts who advise the Danish government on climate policy. The council conducts long-term analyses on topics such as land use, climate targets, and Denmark’s global climate efforts.
Marit-Solveig’s appointment is a recognition of her in-depth work in climate research, and we look forward to seeing her contributions to the important work of The Danish Council on Climate Change.
