Søren Bom Nielsen appointed new professor in geomodelling

Søren Bom Nielsen  has been appointed professor in geomodelling from 1st April 2010.

Søren B. Nielsen graduated from Aarhus University with a Master’s degree in geophysics. In 1986 he was awarded the PhD degree in geophysics from the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada. In 1987 he returned to Aarhus University as a senior fellow, after which followed several research stays in Stavanger and Bergen, Norway. Years later he became an assistant professor and from 1995 associate professor at the Department of Earth Sciences in Aarhus.

Søren B. Nielsen works with quantitative modelling of a wide range of geological processes that are important for the understanding of large-scale geological evolution of e.g. the European and the North Atlantic areas and for hydrocarbon investigation in sedimentary basins.
